In response to UAE’s 2015 strategy, as laid out by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, education was highlighted as an area that needs focus and support, in order for the country to attain its goals. Zabeel Investments, in partnership with Nakheel, launched Bidaya, an education and leadership initiative designed not only to provide top level university education, but provide training, mentoring and development programmes that would role out the next generation of leaders for the United Arab Emirates. Annually, the programme will take 20 of the UAE’s top performing national students from the UAE education system; provide them with a private university education and the tools to pursue their dreams. The overall aim being that these young ambassadors will contribute to the ongoing development of the UAE, and be an inspiration to the generations that follow them.
