Professor Dave Ulrich is a professor of business as well as a consultant on business and leadership. He has consulted and conducted research for over half of the Fortune 200 companies. Dave studies how organisations build capabilities of speed, learning, collaboration, accountability, talent, and leadership through leveraging human resources. He has helped generate award winning systems that assess alignment between strategies, human resource practices and HR competencies.

Traditionally the share price of an organisation was purely down to profits. Ulrich’s more recent comments suggests that 50% of share price is influenced by the performance of the ‘intangibles’ which include people, governance, perception of an organisation and leadership. This shift has highlighted the need to invest more time in people, growth and understanding the HR function to ensure long term success and competitive advantage.

Dave’s take on leadership focuses on the idea that in the long term, an organisational approach to building future leaders matters much more than an individuals ability to lead, in driving sustainable value creation for business.

With over 100 articles and 12 books under his belt; no-one knows more about the value of people and the immense importance it plays in overall business strategy and success than Professor Ulrich.
