Archbishop Desmond Tutu
An Icon of Hope and Purveyor of Peace

The Power of Unity in Business and the Importance of Goodness

“The great leader will show you how he is a leader for the sake of the led”.

- Desmond Tutu

The philosophy of Ubuntu - as human beings with weaknesses and strengths, we are here to complement one another through collaboration and unity. How can you as a leader utilise this interconnectedness in your business to create better performance, greater accountability amongst your team, and help nurture the rising stars within your team?
The importance of restoring equilibriums how the lessons learned in the balance between peace and revenge on a global level can be directly
utilised in your business to create a diplomatic environment feeding off good intentions and respect
Profitability versus goodness the measurement of modern businesses has become one founded on profit level, competition and status - have we lost focus of the moral benchmarks which we should be exceeding? What are the implications of this and how can we alter ourselves to ensure that we send a message to our customers that we are doing the right thing?

About Desmond Tutu

As a human rights activist, Nobel Peace Prize Recipient and member of the Elders – Desmond Tutu is acknowledged and respected as being one of the foremost leaders who has shaped the path for peace, justice, democracy and to put an end to racial division throughout the world today.

Throughout his spiritual, political and leadership career, Archbishop Tutu has worked tirelessly to inspire millions of people around the world, not only on religious and race issues, but also to appreciate the importance of reconciliation and harmony between opposing groups.

Archbishop Tutu has played an integral role in raising awareness for victims of HIV/AIDS, the Darfur Crisis, and human rights issues across the world. He is noted for being particularly vocal on issues including Burma and Zimbabwe, and has been outspoken on the misrepresentation of religion in conflict and terror. We look forward to hearing his thought provoking presentation at Leaders in Dubai Business Forum.
